NEW HAMBURG, N.Y. -- John Emil Pucek of New Hamburg died Thursday, Dec. 10. He was 69.
Pucek was born Dec. 18, 1945, in New York City and graduated from Roy C. Kethcham High School in 1964. After high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy Seabees and served from 1967-70, which included a tour in Vietnam.
He was a life member of the New Hamburg Yacht Club, the Elks Lodge in Wappingers Falls, American Legion Post 1302 and the Mobile Construction Battalion 12. He was also an avid Giants fan.
Pucek was predeceased by his parents, John and Veronica (Stvrtecky) Pucek, and his sister-in-law Carol Pucek.
He is survived by his daughter, Lynette Pucek and her significant other Marty Johncey of Wurtsboro, N.Y.; his son, John E. Pucek II and his significant other Janet Figa and children Courtney and Justin of LaGrange; his sisters, Veronica and her husband Ray Relyea of Pleasant Valley, and Paula Byer of Rochester; his brothers, Andrew and his wife Patty of Costa Rica and Anthony Pucek of Hopewell Junction. Others survivors include Donna Safran Pucek and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Wappingers Falls.
